The Lord is my LIGHT!

ree

I remember being really fearful as a child—afraid of the dark, thunder, being alone, and even certain parts of my house. It seemed like fear had its grip on every aspect of my life. As I grew up, I noticed that fear started to take a different form—it became more about what others thought of me.

My mind would conjure up scenarios about how people would react to my actions, constraining me from being my true self. My world became smaller as I felt stuck, unable to break free from these self-imposed limitations.

But then, everything began to change. The truth of Psalm 27:1 came alive in me, bringing a newfound perspective. "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" These powerful words allowed me to break free from fear's chains and step into a life where I could show up as my authentic self. I realised that I had the ultimate backing, and what God thought about who I was and how I showed up in the world was what mattered the most.

I didn't need to be held captive by imaginary reactions from others. Embracing the strength and security that my faith provided, I started to walk a path of courage, living life fully and unapologetically.

The journey has been a beautiful one since, and as I shed the weight of fear, my world continues to expand, and I shine with the light of the truth that set me free.
